SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

2023 Schedule of Events for the 25th Anniversary Key West Half Marathon®

This year due to the ever changing situation with Covid-19, we are doing a modified in person race for the Key West Half Marathon & 5K. We will ship the race shirt and medal prior to you arriving in Key West, eliminating a crowded packet pick up area. The technology we are using for our events uses the GPS on your phone to monitor and guide you along the course and allows your friends and family members to follow along as well. If you choose not to travel to Key West, the app can also be used in your own hometown to see virtually where you would be on the course if you were in Key West. So basically you will have all week-end to run the course or courses on your own.

Right now this is what we have approved from the City of Key West and the Monroe County Health Department.  If anything changes we will certainly let you know.  This is obviously not what we intended when you signed up for the events.  We will offer no fee defers until November 30, 2020 or we can switch you to the virtual event and ship your shirt & medal if you decide not to travel to Key West.  We certainly hope to see you in balmy Key West in January.

RaceJoy is an app that you download for free and will run on your phone that will use the GPS capabilities to track your progress and send you alerts at critical parts of the course. Additionally, as you pass each mile, you will get a message indicating your progress and current pace. When you complete the course, you can send your results in to be shared online (you will receive a bib number that will be used for tracking your results). The app will be free and very easy to set up and use. You should take a few minutes to learn how to get set up prior to race day: The app will also allow you to sign up multiple events so if you wish to run the Half Marathon & the 5K you can pick the course and run all of them!  Because of the nature of this event there cannot be an Awards Party and Concert following the races.

So, while we cannot have the traditional event, there is no reason not to run the 23rd Annual Key West Half Marathon Run and 5K, and the best part is, you can now run it any time you want between January 16-January 18, here or in your hometown!

If you choose you can register for one or all three 5K courses, in additional to the Half Marathon. The 5K course will be the original Key West Half Marathon 5K course, Hemingway 5K Run course by the Southernmost Point and a no traffic option along the water on South Roosevelt Blvd.  Just be aware that all of these courses will be on your own with limited course assistance and you must adhere to the rules of the road.

We are working on several other activities for you to do on your own with friends or family – Paddle activities with Lazy Dog Outfitters, a Trivia Hunt, Rum tastings with a raffle.  Stay tuned for updates.
